The client needed to provide detailed service information to prospective clients before the launch of the service at the first location.
They needed to assure clients of an improved user satisfaction.
Increase in customer retention rates.
Customers were to be informed of the cost savings in using the serviced laundromat.
I started the UX research by determining the goals after a brainstorming session with the client. We listed a few questions that we explored. We studied the existing situation by thoroughly understanding the subject, conducting interviews with project team members. After the interview session we had a lot of sticky notes already pasted on a table which we used to understand the customer journey through card sorting.
Sketches were drawn and re-sketched after multiple reviews and changes in information architecture and accessibility, i have adopted some new workflow that makes me carry out testing from ideation phase to ensure fundamental changes are effected to avoid fundamental errors due to insufficient testing.
Wireframing was performed and there were also several iterations in the low fidelity phase, mid fidelity phase and high fidelity phase. The low fidelity phase is shown below with the content section areas of the website.
Testing was performed, to ensure we had a solution that met the client's requirement and also in line best practices. I and the team of testers performed A/B testing to confirm which website version was better and could increase retention rates and user satisfaction. It should be noted that the client had an existing website that was developed about three years before we worked on the project. We performed multi variant testing on the two interfaces. We analyzed and acted on the results.
Assumptions should be tested early in the project phase, i will always reiterate that testing should be performed early in the life of the project, the initial sketches should go through scrutiny because we don't want to finish a product and have to revert back to an early design to be adopted.
